System Administration: Mail server replaced
The mail server has replaced/upgraded from a Debian Lenny VM on elm to a Ubuntu Lucid VM on hickory. Originally called mail.shop.lan the new VM is thorium.shop.lan, mail.shop.lan is now a CNAME and should be used primarily. The internal DNS names lists.freegeekvancouver.org and mail.freegeekvancouver.org have been pointed at the new IP and firewalls have been pointed at the new IP.
This finally closes bug #114, HOORAY!
Note that using the name mail.shop.lan when using ssh will cause a warning, this is expected and you will need to update ssh keys. Run 'ssh-keygen -R mail;ssh-keygen -R mail.shop.lan'
System Administration: fir.shop.lan repurposed
Asterisk has been migrated to the VM copper.shop.lan running on hickory.shop.lan. Fir is currently down awaiting reassignment.
System Administration: maple retirement
The server maple is being retired. NFS and file storage services can now be accessed at filer.shop.lan:/srv/nfs . Backup services are at backup.shop.lan. The new system is named beech.shop.lan.
System Administration: teak services renamed
teak.shop.lan services have been moved from https://teak.shop.lan:10000/ to https://manage.shop.lan:80/ which is conveniently accesible at http://manage/
System Administration: Redmine setup and configured
I have setup redmine in order to replace roundup. It looks much easier to administer once it is set up. Also it has the ability to modify most of it's content through the web interface including new projects/trackers. It also has the ability to create sub projects.
